Socratic Seminar

We had a socratic seminar friday.  We talked about the holocaust.  It was a good a time to figure out what we thought as a class about the holocaust and it's punishments.  There were great debates about the bystanders effect being implemented into the holocaust.

The project has not been worked on yet because we are both always busy.  Soon we will determine a day to work on it and hopefully get it done.  I believe it will be done by this month but if not, it will definatly be done next month.  The procrastination has been taking over our lives so we need to snap out of it.

my mentor and I met and we decided to start drilling more shapes into the night light.  So far this project has given me many skills that I didn't have before.  I am very thsnkful for that and now all I have to worry about ishowthe light is going to be implanted and if it is going to be bright enough.  if it is not bright enough than I will have to improvise. 

my mentor andi have been communicating with each other and we will probably get working on the project this weekend.  hopefully we can finish the project and test it out to see if it works.  if it doesnt work we'll find a way to make it work.  i'll keep this blog updateed with what happens.

I have not been working on the night light so far I have been taking a break.  My mentor has been taking a break and also playing for his indoor soccer team.  They have won every game.

I met with my mentor and we cut the pyramid out.  We used a tool that I forgot the name for to cut the wood. I didn't like the geomotry part.  The geomotry wasnt that hard I just had to draw lines but it took a little bit. The next thing we have to do is screw the pieces together.  once we do that we will drill holes in the pyramid so shapes shine out of the triangular faces once a electric candle is placed inside.  We then will paint it.

20% project part 2

I was going to make an airsoft gun but my mentor and I found out it would be way to hard so, we decided to create a night light. It is a pyramid that has shapes that are drilled into the pyramid so if a candle is put in their, the shapes will show on the walls of the house.  The pyramid will also be painted so it has some color. I have not yet found out what colors I will be using but will try to find out soon.  Another thing is my mentor said that we will have to use geometry to get how big, long, wide, and etc. the pyramid is.
